Healthier ME...joining Weight Watchers...

"Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess the baggage, the shorter the trip." - Arnold H. Glasgow

So, I decided to join Weight Watchers.  I think it's about time I admitted that I need HELP losing weight.  This is NOT an easy decision to make....I had to look inside me and realize that I need to track what I eat, how much I eat, and what exactly I put into my body!

Its so easy to lose control and gain weight...and so darn diggity hard to lose even a pound!

I lost close to 20 lbs over spring & fall last year (2011) and then pretty much gained it alllll back during the cozy winter months...I guess when you wear layers & layers of clothes, people assume you are wearing bulky clothing & not fat??! NOT!

Alright, I'm crossing out the letters IM from impossible and believing that I CAN do it...I've done it before, and I CAN do it again!

I am starting a journey....it start TOMORROW morning 03/12/12....won't you join with me?

I'm going to take it 1 day at a time.  Going to set doable goals such as drink 1 more glass of water than I normally do.  Walk around the block with the kids today.  Chase the kids around the backyard.  Swap baked for fried, etc.

I know I can do this....I'm using Weight Watchers only as a tool to help me track my food intake & all my numbers....and of course, recipes.

Even if you don't join any thing....make 1 change!!

Words that bless...

“It is important for a husband to understand that his words have tremendous power in his wife’s life. He needs to bless her with words. She’s given her life to love and care for him, to partner with him, to create a family together, to nurture his children.

If he is always finding fault in something she’s doing, always putting her down, he will reap horrendous problems in his marriage and in his life. Moreover, many women today are depressed and feel emotionally abused because their husbands do not bless them with their words.

One of the leading causes of emotional breakdowns among married women is the fact that women do not feel valued. One of the main reasons for that deficiency is because husbands are willfully or unwittingly withholding the words of approval women so desperately desire.

If you want to see God do wonders in your marriage, start praising your spouse. Start appreciating and encouraging her. Every single day, a husband should tell his wife, “I love you. I appreciate you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.” A wife should do the same for her husband.

Your relationship would improve immensely if you’d simply start speaking kind, positive words, blessing your spouse instead of cursing him or her.”

solid ground or sinking sand...

Which do you stand upon?

TODAY...my husband & I saw first hand what happens when we TRUST in God.

We have been struggling for the past 2 years and facing enormous trials in our life.
But through it all...we prayed and asked God to continue to guide us.
We asked God that he see us through this hard time and bring us through BETTER than where we were before!!!

ALWAYS PUT GOD FIRST.....THANK YOU GOD FOR BRINGING US THROUGH OUR TIME OF PAIN TO THE SEASON OF WELL-BEING!!!!!

I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

"We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering

All the while You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?"

Song by Laura Story

Amazing Grace

My favorite song...speaks to my heart.  God LOVES me despite who I am, where i've been, what i've done.  He calls me to Him just as i am.  He is so good and so great....

The only constant in a changing world....

There is a old quote that says "There is nothing in this world constant but inconstancy" (Jonathan Swift).

Mr.  Swift, you are WRONG!!!

There is an older quote that says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" (The BIBLE)

Does that mean Jesus is out of date?  old-fashioned?  yesterday's news?
Of course not.

It means His promises are still unchanging.
He hasn't modified it, changed it, told you to now refer to section B, clause 316.09e.
He hasn't broken his promises.

The Word of God is timeless and unchanging. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8

It means his love is unconditional, unlimited, complete.
Just because you have changed, doesn't mean He feels any different towards you.

Your status, station, rank, title, age, position, way of thinking, attitude, life, reasons may have ALL CHANGED....but JESUS remains the same yesterday, today and will FOREVER.
